Database manager (DBMAN)
The database structure is divided by concerning with “LC director distribution simulation” and “Optical simulation” and it is categorized into 1) Liquid crystal, 2) Isotropic material, 3) Uniaxial material, 4) Biaxial material, 5) Light source and 6) Dye form the practical requirements. Liquid crystal has both the data of “LC director distribution simulation” and “Optical simulation” and others have only the data of “Optical simulation”. This database dialog is common over 1D, 2D and 3D.

It inputs elastic constants, relative dielectric constants and viscosity. Installation programs copy typical material data into the specified folders that gets operators to start for working immediately.
the data for optical simulation (LC, isotropic, uniaxial, biaxial and dye)
It inputs wavelength dispersion of refractive index and absorption coefficient from 380nm to 780nm. It also can be extended to deal NIR and NUV region from 200nm to 2000nm. The database files need 10nm step data, but customer no needs to prepare all of data because several interpolation functions are ready for eliminating cumbersome operation.

It prepares Cauchy, Sellmeier, Lorentz, Drude and Spline interpolation functions.

When few measured data were supplied, it calculates coefficients of the interpolation function. Operator should choose suitable the function by themselves. Refractive index and absorption coefficients at arbitrary wavelength can be offered by the just chosen interpolation function. It is very convenience for starting simulation immediately．

When many measured data were supplied, it becomes confuse on what the interpolation function is adequate. This new function determines a suitable the interpolation function automatically, like the ellipsometer. It is very easy to get data at arbitrary wavelength when the interpolation function was determined.
